custom digital tools, built quickly.

For small and mid-sized businesses that have outgrown spreadsheets and off-the-shelf software but don't have a software team. I specialize in architecture, engineering and construction, and I'm happy to work outside it.

01

custom tools + apps

The app your team keeps wishing existed. Built around how you actually work, not how a SaaS vendor thinks you should.

  • field and job-site apps that work on a phone
  • internal tools, portals and dashboards
  • replacing the spreadsheet everyone is afraid to touch

see: field reports, one-handed

02

AI workflows + automation

Put LLMs to work on the repetitive parts of your business, with guardrails so the output is something you'd sign.

  • documents and reports generated from rough notes
  • lead research, enrichment and scoring
  • reading and organizing the inbox, PDFs and forms

see: K-12 lead pipeline

03

data, models + forecasting

When the answer is in your data but nobody has time to dig it out.

  • scoring and ranking models you can explain
  • forecasts calibrated against what actually happens
  • pipelines that pull public and private data together

see: beacon

04

fractional product

An interim head of product or PM to get a new product, or a new product team, off the ground.

  • product strategy, OKRs and metrics
  • discovery and roadmap with real customers
  • coaching founders and first PMs

_ how it works

small scope, fast feedback, you own it.

  1. 01

    talk

A free 30-minute call about the problem, not the technology. If I'm not the right fit, I'll say so.

  2. 02

    scope

A short written proposal with what we'll build, what we won't, the timeline and the price.

  3. 03

    build

Working software in your hands early, with a demo every week so nothing is a surprise.

  4. 04

    hand off

You own the code and the accounts, with docs and a walkthrough. I'm around if you need more.

_ why me

one person who speaks business, design and code.

  • applied AI lead at bechtel, building ML and LLM tools for engineering and construction.
  • first product hire at three construction tech startups, from seed through series A.
  • licensed architect with ~8 years delivering megaprojects, so AEC workflows don't need translating.
  • founder of a working architecture practice. i'm a small business owner too.

_ questions

the usual ones.

what kind of business is a good fit?
Teams of roughly 5 to 200 people with a specific, painful, repeated problem. AEC firms and contractors especially, but the approach works anywhere.
how fast is "quick"?
Most first versions are designed to be in your hands within a few weeks. If something needs months, we'll find the smaller thing worth building first.
do i need to be technical?
No. You bring the problem and the people who live with it. I handle the rest and explain the trade-offs in plain language.
who owns what we build?
You do: the code, the data and the accounts it runs on.

_ let's talk

tell me about the problem.
